Week One: Rankings

Wow, what a great premiere! Just gonna go ahead and say I try to be unbiased, so don't take offense! :-)

I've decided I'll rank them in order from my favorites to least favorite.

1. Kirstie & Maks
WOW, so surprised by these two! She's 60?!? I really enjoyed this and thought it had a combo of both the best cha cha and best performance. Maks might have his mirrorball this season. You go girl!

2. Ralph & Karina
Part of the reason I put him in second was, who REALLY didn't expect the Karate Kid to do well?? Still, I loved them. So Old Hollywood!

3. Hines & Kym
Also a very pleasant surprise. Although all football players tend to do good, I think he'll definitely make it to semi-finals or finals!

4. Kendra & Louis
I think Kendra has tremendous potential, as long as she works on what the judges pointed out. To me, she had great hip action, but I do agree on the leg thing - way too bent.

5. Chelsea & Mark
I somewhat thought this was a little to theatrical, and not enough actual foxtrot, but overall, they're young, adorable and really good. Worried about their jive, however.

6. Chris & Cheryl
It was a little choppy to me, but I like him, he's crazy fun. Of course, I've always loved Cheryl, so I think they do rather well together. Finals material? Probably not. Entertaining? Yes.

7. Sugar Ray & Anna
So so so cute! At times, however, I couldn't tell whether it was indeed a foxtrot, or a cha cha. Not Anna's best choreography, but you can't blame Ray for that. He's adorable.

8. Petra & Dmitry
Beautiful dance. It wasn't the best, but her emotion and grace made up for it. She's so sweet, I love it. She almost had me in tears when she was crying.

9. Romeo & Chelsie
Uh, cheesy song choice of the week! Puke. Anyway, he's DEFINITELY an improvement from his daddy. Amazing chemistry... at times I was like "WHOA!" at their chemistry. Hot!

10. Mike & Lacey
If there was an award for sexiest couple, I think these two would win...hands down. :-)
But since there is not... I don't necessarily think he was worst than Wendy, so I would have scored him a 16. Maybe. I like Lacey, so I'm bummed about their score... big time. I hope he can step it up in the jive.

11. Wendy & Tony
Wow, I was really excited to see these two, but sadly disappointed. :( There are no words.

How would you rank tonight's dances? Do you agree with mine? Let's hear your thoughts!

Phone Numbers and Week One Dances

Hey guys, are you ready?!?! Usually the last one(or two!) digits are the order the couple will dance. Season 12 Couples - My Thoughts

As you've probably heard by now, GMA announced the complete cast of DWTS on Wednesday. If you haven't heard, here they are, along with my thoughts on the pairings.

Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
She is definitely the "star" of the season. She's created so much buzz just since Monday, and I think a lot of DWTS fans are most excited to see her. However, I have a huge feeling that this is somewhat of a set-up by the producers for a lot of arguments. And, I mean, A LOT, like, all of Maks' past partners combined. Or, a lot of fun and laughs - it could go either way. But, for those of us who watched Kirstie Alley's Big Life(yes, I admit, I did.), we know how strong-willed and stubborn her personality can be. She doesn't hold back, and I think that can either work perfectly for Maks, or be a disaster waiting to happen. Only time will tell....

'Psycho' Mike Catherwood & Lacey Schwimmer
You're not alone if you have no idea who this guy is. Unfortunately, I think this couples success will lie solely in Lacey's hands. Which, could be a great thing. They seem like they'll be a good team, and let's face it: a pretty hot couple on the floor.

Chris Jericho & Cheryl Burke
I have to admit, I'm a little surprised by this pairing. Yet, I am so excited to see these two. I'm convinced that Cheryl can make just about anyone dance(Tom DeLay, anyone?), so I'm sure he'll at least be "so-so" if not amazingly good.

Chelsea Kane & Mark Ballas
These two are so unbelievably cute together. I really hope Mark is able to put last season behind him and start fresh with Chelsea. She seems as if she has great potential, and we all know Mark has the ability to push people to reach their full potential. The only thing I worry about is that she's not as well known as Kyle Massey and I fear that she'll be a shocking elimination.

Sugar Ray Leonard & Anna Trebunskaya
This one is a bit odd to me. I wouldn't pair these two together, but who knows, it could work. I think he'll soar to the finals. He has good potential and a good fan base, along with Anna. I think this could really be Anna's chance to shine.

Ralph Macchio & Karina Smirnoff
SUPER excited about this pairing. I'm a big Karina fan, and I hope she can finally take home that trophy, but sadly, I kinda expect them to be moderate, we'll see! Still, excited.

Petra Nemcova & Dmitry Chaplin
I must say, I am not the biggest fan of Dmitry. He ruined it for me when he was paired with Mya. I don't know quite what it is, but he just kind of bugs me. However, I think this pairing is very compatible. In a good way.

Romeo Miller & Chelsie Hightower
These two are so cute together.... I can already sense romance rumors coming up! :-)
Let's just hope he dances better than his Daddy...

Hines Ward & Kym Johnson
One of my favorite seasons was season 7, mainly for Warren and Kym. I really hope this is a repeat of them. I can see him doing really well.

Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett & Louis Van Amstel
Is it too early to predict a winner? LOL... I think she'll be amazing, we already know she can dance, just not so sure about Ballroom dancing. I know she'll soar at the Latin dances though. Louis has a real contender here, let's hope he doesn't screw it up. He's another professional I'd love to see win.

Wendy Williams & Tony Dovolani
They're sort of awkward together, in my opinion. She's really tall, so I'm anxious to see how their dancing will work out. It's usually Maks that gets the taller ones, so I'm surprised Tony did. I can actually see Tony & Kirstie working better together.

What are your thoughts on this seasons' pairings? Who will you vote for? As always, I've put a poll on the sidebar to vote on your pre-season choice to win. Vote, vote, vote!
